The staff at the VLC wish to thank the Round Table (Norton Radstock) for answering our call to provide emergency help to our most vulnerable students. Thanks to their generous financial donation VLC staff have been able to make up parcels for all our students on free school meals - some 45 parcels in all. The grocery boxes included fruit, vegetables, salad, baked beans, eggs, bread, pasta, biscuits, cakes, crisps, toilet roll, sanitary products, toothpaste and not forgetting the need for chocolate at this time of year - an Easter egg!. Several staff volunteered to make up the parcels and deliver them too. We know this will help the students and their families through the Easter break.
Chris Bridge, Round Table Treasurer said "When we were approached (by the wife of one of our Tablers who works for the VLC) all of our members were only too pleased to support this very worthwhile cause at such a challenging time in all our lives. We have already received a message of thanks directly from one family and are aware of the many grateful messages from others which have come via the VLC."
Principal Emma Gundry said "I wish to thank the Round Table for their donation which will make a genuine difference to the families who received these parcels. It would also not have been possible without the hard work of Jemma who sourced all the contents and those staff who came in to make up and deliver the boxes across all of North Somerset."
